FAQ

Recruitment FAQ

Find answers to common questions about the Nautilus recruitment process.

What happens to my resume when I submit it for an open position?

Our applicant tracking system will send you a message confirming that we have received your resume. If there is a match, we will contact you for a phone/zoom introductory interview. If there is a mutual interest, you will be invited to connect with the hiring team.

When should I expect to hear from you?

If the hiring team views your experience as a good potential match for the role you applied to, we will contact you for an initial phone screen. You will likely hear from us within two weeks of your resume submission, and we try to get back to everyone as soon as possible.

What should I wear for an interview?

Your technical skill set, experience, communication style, and cultural fit are so much more important than your wardrobe, but business casual is always acceptable.

What’s the interview process?

You will most likely have one or two phone or zoom interviews with the recruiter and then the hiring manager. If there is a mutual interest, you will be invited for an on-site or virtual interview with some members of the team, and other stakeholders from across the company. Depending on the role and requirements, you may also be asked to give a presentation or speak with members of the executive team. We check references toward the end of the process and perform a background check if an offer is accepted.

How many rounds of interviews do you usually have?

It depends on the job and level, but you may speak to a small or large group of interviewers. We do our best to keep the interview process quick and effective. Thorough interviewing allows candidates to make informed career decisions. Our employees have fruitful careers here at Nautilus Biotechnology because we spend a lot of time and effort on the hiring process to make sure we’re hiring the right people for the right roles.

I wasn’t chosen for an interview, or I didn’t get a job offer. Does this mean I won’t be hired at Nautilus?

Not at all. It only means that after careful consideration, we decided that there wasn’t a strong match for this specific position. There are many Nautilus employees who are super successful in their jobs who joined after interviewing for several different jobs before finding the right match. Keep on applying for roles that are a good match for your experience and interest!

Do you have an internship program?

Not yet, but we’re working on it! We’ll post all future opportunities on our Career Page in the future.

What if I don't see any open jobs that are a good fit?

Set a Google or Linkedin alert (or both) for roles that match your criteria. We post all of our jobs to our Career Page.

How do I prepare for my interview?

  • Take a look at some of our talks and publications
  • Prepare some talking points – think about some examples of projects you completed and the outcome. What went well and what would you do differently.
  • Know your resume well and be prepared to speak about your experiences and skills related to the role.
  • Get to know us! Do some research on the company, history, mission, and values.

What to expect

Upon applying to a role, you’ll receive an auto-generated confirmation to acknowledge receipt of your submission. You will hear back from a member of the Talent Acquisition team within a few weeks if your skills and experience are a good match for the role’s required and preferred skills.

Please note, any and all correspondence from Nautilus Biotechnology will come from an email address ending in @hire.lever.co or @nautilus.bio. If you think that you might be the victim of a scam, please contact us at info@nautilus.bio.
